Born in Guildford, UK on July 12th, Katherine began her racing career in karting in several developmental open-wheel series in Britain, including Formula Ford, Formula Renault and Formula Three before moving to the US to compete in Formula Atlantic. 

In 2000, Katherine was the first woman to achieve a pole position in a Formula Ford Zetec race. In 2001, she beat famed Ferrari Formula 1  Driver Kimi Raikknonen's lap record and achieved a pole, that same year she was the first woman to receive the BRDC's "Rising Star" accolade.
