To be a racing driver, you have to be fit. Not just physically but mentally too and you have to be ready for any challenge that comes your way. During a race the strategy can change for so many reasons and it's important that I'm able to be ready for anything!
So what do I do to keep fit?
A very dear friend of mine, Cara Adams, Chief Engineer at Bridgestone recently challenged me to do the Augusta Half Ironman Triathlon. I accepted and having now completed my first one I love it! The training and everything around it is so much fun and I plan on continuing the training and doing more to improve my time... the competitive side in me comes out in everything that I do!
I am on the Next Moto Champion Cycling team based in Georgia. I only joined this last year further to an introduction from my 2016 crew member and cycling training buddy Perry and so far I have learnt so much and am looking forward to racing with them more in 2017.
Nutrition is particularly important and over my racing career I have learnt so much about this and have been lucky to have had advice from some knowledgeable people in this subject. It's all a science and you just have to work out what your body needs... another one of those STEM-related careers!
